A new guidebook that sheds light on best practices and the possible dangers of this controversial alternative healing method.

This guidebook is for the growing number of healers, counselors, therapists, energy workers, coaches and guides who address sexual abuse issues and sexual healing with their clients. It is also for the many women and men who are considering working with a sexual healer and want to know:

  • What is sexual healing and how does it work?
  • What to expect during a sexual healing session.
  • How to create boundaries that make you feel safe.
  • How to choose a sexual healer.

Safe Sexual Healing coverThe principles and guidelines included in this book also apply to a growing population who have become more comfortable with sexuality and sexual energy through learning about “Tantra” (the ancient esoteric science of sacred sexuality) as a healing modality—where the “shadow side” of sexuality can be easily triggered and cause unintended harm. This guidebook is a real-world consideration of the sexual healer—client dynamic and relationship that occurs in healing sessions that address sexual wounding and dysfunction.

Safe Sexual Healing furthers this important conversation and attempts to help in the development of accepted standards of practice that do no harm to client or healer.

“My own sexual healing was a critical and pivotal piece of my recovering from sexual abuse and trauma. In the many years process of my healing, I was retraumatized many times by unethical, unconscious, poorly trained, so called professional sexual healers, some held in very high regard. Although I trust they were well meaning, I was harmed in the process, and my recovery took much longer than needed. The initial courage I had to muster to reach through the shame, pain, desperation and taboos just to ask for help dumbfounded me, and then to be met with more abuse, cost me relationships, money, years, and left me feeling hopeless for sometime.

I was DETERMINED to restore my power, my life force, my body, and my soul.
Sunyata was the best find on my sexual healing journey.

He UNDERSTANDS, GETS and PROVIDES safe sexual healing.
I feel strongly that the book that he has written is IMPORTANT INFORMATION!

Please support Sunyata and the Publishing of his book.”

Reading this felt like reading something I could have written but didn’t have to. Those of you that have chatted about this with me will understand why immediately.
It’s a really good feeling. Talking about ethics and caution in sexual healing circles outside the formal clinical model can be isolating at times. It’s so heartening to encounter people doing the work.
There are several folks I deeply respect and appreciate out there – it may be time for a master resource post, in fact – and now thanks to Grace I know about one more.

Even if your work and your workshops don’t involve woo, this is well worth a read for its solid take on practitioner ethics.

Thanks to Grace Francesca for the recommendation and to Sunyata Satchitananda for writing this. I’m looking forward to the book’s release.
